Here you can find out about my experiences in educational work in the fields of theater, game development and much more.
I have come to understand foundational acting training from a holistic perspective. I believe it is essential to meet students at their current level of experience and develop their skills from that starting point. This requires a personalized approach for each student and a variety of pedagogical methods.
In my pedagogical and artistic practice, I draw significant inspiration from Keith Johnstone’s principles. My goal is to dissolve creative blockages and silence the „inner censor“ that often hinders performance.
Especially in the training of actors and singers, I use improvisation as a vital tool to promote emotional and physical permeability. When we stop trying to be „good,“ we often find the most authentic and vibrant moments on stage. To me, improvisation is not just a comedic genre; it is a fundamental mindset: the courage to face the unknown, the joy of failing, and an unconditional trust in one’s partner.
The successful implementation of these techniques is reflected in my letters of recommendation:
When it comes to game development in educational context I take the same holistic approach in designing concepts.
Together with Nanna Jacobsen, a research student at the University of Souther Denmark, we came up with a wheel of playful learning making it easier to approach designing for such a purpose. As play and being playful is rather a state of mind than an action (Korhonen & Arrasvuori 2009) we believed that it is important to boost this approach by developing the whole human being.
